What is the NewVentures Intiative and why was it created?
The NewVentures Initiative is a program of work providing value-added assistance to entrepreneurs, start-up and existing businesses in the process of commercializing new technologies and new products or services.
The Initiative is a program of?Iowa Quad Cities Chamber?and is supported by contributions from private and public entities, as well as various private and public grants.?
How can I receive funding for my business?
NewVentures does not provide any funding to business ventures. It is the role of NewVentures to help companies with their business strategies. The business planning model provides clients assistance in assessing the viability of their plans, doing market research, creating management plans, readying companies for angel or venture capital presentations and loan packaging.
What are the fees associated with services provided by NewVentures?
Many services provided by NewVentures staff are free.? Others are fee based. Recognizing that most start-up companies lack funds available to pay for services, NVI staff works closely with the company to find solutions to allow it to perform services. Fees for services are arranged between NVI staff and the client to provide greater flexibility for the start-up in a professional entrepreneurial environment and will be based upon the scope of services.?
Can I receive services and not be located at the Center?
Yes.? Those interested in receiving business development services will be asked to complete an client in-take form and an executive summary explaining their business and/or concept and may meet with NewVentures staff.?
